On being self-centered

I came across this quote on the internet today and rather liked it.

My radius is too large; I need to work on shrinking the borders.

  1. I think that is a good general observation, we all ought to strive to reduce our radius of self-centered-ness.

I think given your chosen journey/path your radius is by nature wide, but astute self observation will help you keep the radius from spiraling out.

But as Hedone suggests, it is a worthwhile idea for all of us.

  2. @David...why do you say "given my chosen journey/path my radius is by nature, wide?

Having left your marriage, gone out on your own, in a way I think you define as under-equipped. With all the uncertainty of your adventure, you are likely to be more self absorbed, self centered and self conscious at this time than you had been in the past or will be in the future.

The degree to which you question yourself in posts is just an example. It is only natural that your journey of uncertainty would include greater introspection.

  3. Well said, David, thank you. I will just have to make sure that my "introspection" does not swallow me up! *smile*
